Mount Isa Institute of TAFE has moved away from traditional modes of teaching to allow for our teaching focus to continue to change and develop with industry needs.
The institute prides itself on its flexible and blended delivery policy that provides people with equal access to cost effective and high quality training, as well as offering people more options in terms of what, when, where and how they learn - either full-time, part-time, flexibly or via distance!

Our aim is to satisfy the training requirements for the areas of vocational and personal development within industry and the community. How do I enrol?
Now that you have decided which one of our exciting programs will challenge you, the following information will be supplied to you upon contacting the Institute:

client selection, enrolment and induction/orientation procedures

program information, including content and vocational outcomes
-
fees and charges, including refund policy and fee exemption for example extreme financial hardship
-
provision for language, literacy and numeracy assessment
-
client support, including any external support the institute has arranged for clients
-
flexible learning and assessment procedures
-
welfare and guidance services
-
appeals, complaints and grievance procedures
-
disciplinary procedures
-
staff and student responsibilities for access, equity and legislative requirements, for example: sexual harassment
-
mutual recognition obligations
-
recognition of prior learning arrangements
-
facilities, equipment, environment, learning/teaching styles
-
services and contact details for the institute International student support officer.*
*Specific to international students (we don't offer International academic programs).
If you are under 15 years of age, your parent/guardian must apply in writing to the Institute Director for special consideration of enrolment. If you are not in contact with your parent/guardian, an adult family member or mentor such as an employer or youth worker may provide a written statement about your ability and commitment to undertake study. Where this is not possible you may submit your written request on your own behalf.
You must meet all specified pre-requisites, co-requisites and entry requirements to be eligible for consideration for program admission.
It is a requirement of our Institute that students complete enrolment forms prior to enrolment. If you are located in a remote area - no problem, we will be able to mail or fax these to you!
It is also a requirement of our Institute that program fees are paid at the time of enrolment. Please contact the Client Information Centre for up-to-date fee details and to arrange payment plans where eligible.
