Mount Isa campus

Mount Isa campus is committed to training rural and remote communities and provides hands on vocational education training (VET) on-campus, off-campus, in the workplace, online and through other flexible delivery methods. It offers qualifications in fields of business, children's services, construction, engineering, hospitality, information technology and retail.
Staff deliver training throughout the entire North-West region - distance is no object!
The campus also provides education and training for students undertaking school-based, part-time or full-time apprenticeships and traineeships.
Through a close association with the industry sector, Mount Isa Institute of TAFE develops strategies to provide training that stimulates increased employment and addresses identified skill shortages in the mining, manufacturing, and building and construction industries and offers specialist short courses that are specifically designed in response to the general interest of the community.

Facilities
Conference room: An air-conditioned room with a seating capacity for 75 is designed for a variety of purposes, such as seminars, workshops and lectures. The room has video-conference capability, television, video- recorder, data projector, electronic whiteboard and overhead projector.
Computer rooms: Three air-conditioned class-rooms with Internet accessible computers.
Interactive whiteboards: are now also available in some computer and general classrooms.

Catering is available on request for any function. A commercial canteen operates on campus.
Mount Isa library and resource centre
The library is a part of the Information Management unit which is located in A-block ground floor. It has resources to support all areas of the curriculum covered in the Institute.
An e-learning centre within the library houses ten computers which are available for individual students for research and study purposes, and class groups accompanied by a teacher. It is advisable to book the computers ahead with library staff to ensure their availability. The unit also incorporates a videoconference facility and conference room.
All facilities in the Innovation & Learning unit are available for public use on a 'user pays' system, and clients may become associate members of the library to access the full borrowing rights enjoyed by students.
