Jordan Lukac, 20 years old

Jordan has just finished his Certificate III in Electrical Engineering at Mount Isa Institute of TAFE and wants to own his own contracting business in the future. "The most useful part of the training I found was the hands-on work in the prac room," he said. "The teachers at MIIT were great because they taught me a lot from their own experiences."

Alan Horwood, 26 years old

The classroom atmosphere and the presentation of the training were some of the things Alan liked about studying at Mount Isa Institute of TAFE.
Now that he has finished his Certificate III in Electrical Engineering Alan looks forward to using his trade to work overseas in the future.

Greg Hobby, 46 years old

An interest in the electrical field and how things work lead Greg to study a Certificate III in Electrical Fitter and Mechanic at Mount Isa Institute of TAFE. "The most useful part of the training was getting my licence at the end of my apprenticeship so I can travel and work in my trade," Greg said. "It's always good to have a career in the trades."

John Pitman, 39 years old

After finishing his Certificate III in Electrical John is now looking to complete an instrumentation qualification. "I'd recommend the course to other people - it provided many opportunities," John said. "The teachers and staff at Mount Isa Institute of TAFE supported my studies by providing the help and training I needed."

Gavin Ogden, 38 years old

Great teachers who know about the field they are teaching have been the best aspect of training for Gavin. "My experience at Mount Isa Institute of TAFE has been good, I looked forward to coming to TAFE to learn about my chosen career," Gavin said."Being an older student you have certain worries about training but the teachers offer encouragement to keep you going."
